Retention
Unfortunately, most people think of plastic storm water chambers in association with detention systems and not retention due to the open bottom of the chambers. However, they are also highly effective for retention simply by lining the trench walls and bottom with a plastic pond liner or bentonite sheets. We have found that bentonite sheets are usually less expensive, and the seams are self-sealing. For more information on the bentonite sheets, see Carlisle or Cetco. For more information on plastic pond liners, see AZ Ponds, BestNest, or Pondliner. These are just a few examples of places that carry these products.
When installing our chamber system with a pond liner, we recommend that the pond liner be protected from puncture by placing a non-woven filter fabric of at least four ounces above and below.
